MY BETTA iS SICK2007-11-24 23:34:01

i think my beta is dieing. cuz like it looks and swimslike it has no more energy i need help i feel so sad its been lieing on its back for like 3 miuntes what should i do?? HELP

Maybe he is sleeping- did you try to get him moving some? Mine freaks me out alot.

He could be dying tho- just so you know- they don't last a real long time, most of the time. I had one that lasted for 2 years and everyone thought that was great. My current one is on 10 months.

Make sure you do not put water in the bowl unfiltered or settled. I put water in a container about 2 days before I am going to change his water. Make sure you cahnge the water at least every 2-3 weeks. Don't over or under feed. Make sure he is not directly in the draft or heat (where the water temp can change easily).

I know people say it's silly to be sad about a fish. But I found my bettas to have alot of personality. They keep my company at work. Something that is constantly normal.

I hope it turns out OK- but if not. Be prepared for that too - OK. (I had a friend take care of disposing mine when he died)

PS- if he is showing signs of being ill/dying..do NOT change his water right now. That is a very stressful experience for them.

bring it to a petshop which specialise in fish to help you. I've kept many bettas and i've never seen one get sick. When they die, they just die. No lying on its back for 3 minutes or so.
