My Beta fish has stopped eating for days now, and he keeps curling up in a ball Is he slowely dying
1. Check water quality. If it is within normal limits than that is not it. It could then be baterial.
If you would like to stop a bacterial infection do the following;
1. Change 100% of the water.
2. Go and buy a fish antibiotic; my personal preference is Tetracycline. I buy it at petsmart
3. Treat your fish by the instructions on the back of the box. Different brands have different strengths so follow the directions.
4. Continue to offer food every day; several times a day. I got a long pair of tweezers and tapped the food against his mouth. When he started to feel better he took it. If your betta is well fed he can last a while without food.
5. Change his water according to the directions on the medication box or every other day. Try to be quick and induce as little stress as possible.
6. Do not give up hope on him!
it could be a number of things, water is too cool, too dirty, chemically unbalanced, he could be sick, over feeding. You need to start with one and eliminate it then move to the next to find out what is wrong.
