My Treadfin Lookdown Fish is Stressed
I just bought a Treadfin Lookdown Fish. For two days he has just been swimming from one end of the tank to the other looking for a way out. He looks stressed. I taped a towel around the sides of the tank so he wouldnt think there was open water that he is obviously looking for. He hasnt ate anything for 2 days either. What can I do to help him settle down. I have a nice tank with lots of live rock if he would just settle down and enjoy it.
Answers:that person who just gave u that first answer has tooooo much time on his hands!she if it is a she may b almost ready 2 give birth ..it really depends how old of a fish u have.but if its a young threadfin this is very natural not 2 worry! good luck!if u do have a female b sure u have lotz of places 2 hide for the fry.plants.plants and more plants! hope this helps.
Oh yeah, that tank sounds WAY better than his natural habitat, which is the OCEAN.
What's not to love about spending your life in captivity, having no contact with your own kind?
Poor little fishy.
He may be trying to shoal with reflections in the glass. Change the cover to something pale or remove it if the tank is in a calm location.
If you don't have light dependent reef inhabitants it would be a good idea to leave the tank lights off.
How big is the tank? these fish get to the size of a dinner plate & you need at least three - more than six is better.
