My beta fish is swimming funny Does this mean hes dying2007-11-24 23:38:07

Our beta Spongebob looks like he cant control his swimming.

Answers:

what is he eating? if you only feed him pellets or bloodworms, he could have swim bladder disorder. This is isnt a big problem unless you ingnore it. But if this is the case he needs to eat vegitation, like a pea. swim bladder disorder is constipation for the fish

yeah its probably the end of the road for spngebob, its rare for a beta to live over a year or so. most of mine have died alot quicker, but my friends lived for a couple years. if hes on his side, and moving slower then better say goodbye :(

Hi.I've had a beta fish die.When he was dying he wouldn't swim at all.All he would do is open and close his mouth.I don't think your beta is dying.Or if he is dying he's on 1 of his sides.

no beta's are very funny swimmers at time if he/ she hasnt been in no fight then its all good & if so just allow it to get better on its on dont bother it gl
