My beta fish jumped out of the net and landed on the kitchen floor :( His eye is now looking real pu
It looks like a sac around the eye. How should I care for him?
Answers:Okay ready? I am assuming he is in an unfiltered bowl
Make sure his water is clean. Do a 50% water change if it has been more than three days and less than seven.
Go out to petsmart or somewhere like that and get tetracycline. Follow the manufacturer's directions and treat your water with it (yes fish and all). If you have a bowl that is only a gallon or two it is going to be a tiny amount. This is an antibiotic and will help prevent infection. Provide conditions that do not chage rapidly. Steady temp.water parameters.the like. He may ave hit his eye. He may loose it so brace yourself. The antibiotic is important.when fish stress they get sick.so prevention is the key. Change the water according to the directions on the box of medication. Feed him freeze dried blood worms and betta pellets and a tiny itsy bitsy bit of frozen pea. Yes they are carnivores but a tiny bit (we are talking tiny enough you are going to need tweezerres to handle it) will benefit him. No more than that. And no canned peas to high in salt and other preservatives that are bad for little fishys. Good luck and keep us posted.
uhhh.. not sure
well hopefully you put him back in the water. Besides that i ahve no idea
