My betta has been swimming crazy, from the top of the tank to the bottom and jerking around, what is2007-11-24 23:34:00

He has a few black spots, and was attacked by the older one, which broke through the divder. He has also been digging at the gravel, I cleaned the tank throughly and conditioned the water. any ideas of what may be wrong wold be great

If they are in the same tank with a divider he might smell the other one and still be shocked.

Take him into a fish store. It sounds like he has a fungus and it is irritating his scales. They should be able to tell you the proper medication to give him!

When my fish did that, they were getting ready to die or injured themselves somehow. Some of them took that suicidal leap out of the fish tank.

you shouldnt have beata s in the sane tank even with aa divider they will kill themselves tring to get to the other one put it in a small bowl with no gravle that shuold hepl

sometimes when betta tanks are placed side by side they attempt to attack through the tank. If he has already been attacked he may still be nervous about it or attempting to find a way for revenge. Have you tried seperating them into different tanks entirely unstead of just through a divider. also might want to try moving the tanks away from each other

Flush him and buy a Black Molly and name it Hacksaw Duggan II in honor of my own molly who died and caused me to shoot up a Walmart fish department and go into therapy.

Seeking expert advice is the first step, there are many boards with knowledgable experts available on the net now. :) While I'm not a Betta expert, I do own 3 now and have had many over the years. I specialize in Goldfish and Koi mainly. I recomend you try one or two with your problem and see what they think.

chances are there is a lack of oxygen in the water,or there is to much ammonia from food and crap try a water change, but chances are your fish is gonna die
