My bubble tip anenome keeps going for my powerheads2007-11-24 23:39:01

I have a bubble tip anenome in a 55 gallon tank which is about half full of live rock and some fish (2 ocilerius clowns, 1 yellow tang, 1 niger trigger, 1 dragon gobby, a couple crabs, and a couple snails). Last night I woke up and checked on the tank and the anenome looked like it was being sucked into the intake of the powerhead. I wait until the morning to see if he would get himself out and he didn't. So I removed him myself and he is heading right back for the powerhead. Is this normal? He looks like he is half dead but he's moving pretty fast to get back to the powerhead. Any suggestions?

Answers:

no but sorry to hear

he might be looking for food relocate the guy and feed every day for acouple of days he sould stay or fire your clown fish for not doing his job
Does your powerhead have an intake strainer/grille thingy?

It helps to have one of those. If your fish keeps swimming to the powerhead even if you have one, I suggest you unplug it and see what happens to it. If it still tries to swim into the powerhead, something is wrong. Take out the powerhead and observe what the fish does.
