I'm really worried about my fish. if you know anything about female bettas please contact me at jimmyz2117@yahoo.com
Answers:It might just mean she's frightened or stressed out.
* Make sure her water is clean, filtered, and at a comfortable temperature for her (78-82dF)
* Make sure any other fish in the tank aren't harassing her.
* Keep her tank in a place where there's not too much noise or activity.
* Pay attention for any other signs of possible illness or disease like ragged fins, missing scales, a swollen or too-thin belly, bulging or cloudy eyes, red streaks on scales or fins, etc.
I hope she makes it! I have 5 female bettas right now and they're lovable fish.
bettas can lose color with age, but it can also mean she is sick. do you feed her a diet with a variety (pellets, bloodworms) is she starving? do you do regular water changes? did you recently change the water? (she may be adjusting)
