My fish are lying down at the bottom of my fish tank2007-11-24 23:39:11

They are all still breathing, but they are lying down? What could be the problem?

One of my angel fish died and I saw it lying down.

Cold or shock will do that. What is the temperature? If it is below 72, you need to increase to about 78 to 80. If there is not enough air inthe the water, fish will gasp at the surface, If they have Ick (Icthyopthirus), they will rub against things in the tank and have small white spots over their bodies (got to a pet stop and get an ick cure). If you have just bought these fish, it could be that your water is very different from the water they were kept in, but unless your water is very bad, they will adjust. Always remove any dead fish at once. But I think your temperature is the problem.

it's dying unless u want to spend a small fortune on a vet just leave him.

Stop buying fish,or are you keeping the tank clean do they have the right food have plenty of oxygen clean the tank after the first one died.

Sometimes fish sleep that way. Make sure you keep the tank clean. Ask an expert about this.

if your fish r breathing than guess what they are NOT dead.fish can stay to the bottom of the tank if dead.but they do not breath! what kind of fish do u have? OCARS are very moody they lay on the bottom of the tank to pout!.GOOD LUCK!

Ammonia build up in the water. Get a proper filter with ammonia reducing zeolite, and activated carbon.
