My fish have ick
I have a 25 gallon with 2 goldfish 1 crowntail betta, 1glass catfish, and a pleco. my pleco keeps trying to suck on the goldfish, and that's causing stress. Now they have clamped fins sometimes and have Ick on there tail. My betta is also getting Ick, i'ts not as bad as the gold fish. and the glass catfish and pleco are fine. I can't move the pleco because i have another tank with 2 big goldfish in it and one with a whole bunch of guppies and a chinese algae eater in it and my last tank where using to breed my other crowntail in. So i need to know how to get rid of Ick, quickly. And don't put stupid answers.
Answers:There's an Ick treatment you can buy at Petco that works pretty well. You'll have to treat the whole tank, though. The problem with Ick is that it is really hard to get rid of. That was the main source of problems with fish I had before. It is a parasite, so it's just hard to cure. The anti-ick medication should help, though. Good luck.
well first of all your tank sounds over crowded and a pleco can reach a size of 2 feet easy how big is your pleco now secondly you need to do frequent water changes at least 15-25% every couple of days and go to the pet store and get medication and keep doing your water changes also maybe aqaurium salt will help good luck to you
they have medicine for ick at any pet store or wal-mart.
ok.first do a 25% water change then go buy some ick meds.(most expensive)is not always better!do this twice in a 24 hour period.even if its better do it anyway this will assure that all is clear! hope this helps.
DO NOT ADD ICH MEDICATION!!
