My fish is a bit mad In the day he always floats belly up and swims upside down
I know!! bit odd, thought at first it had died, but when i tapped the tank he came to life. THis has happended for about 6 months + in the day swims around upside down and just floats upside down. In the evening and at night he is fine, swims right way up and floats the right way up!!
think he is after attention!! lol, do clean the tank regular
any suggestions are welcome!?!?!?
Answers:He is suffering from swim bladder disorder. What kind of food are are you feeding? Flakes or floating pellets make the fish suck in too much air and and get trapped which causes them to float. Or something about the food is causing him to get gassy and its getting stuck in him and later on in the day or night it passes and makes him swim normal again.
Try feeding him sinking pellets and see if he gets better. Peas work as a laxative so if the sinking pellets don't work you can feed them too.
What kind of fish is it? Is it in the fish's genes?? i think its just on the brink of dieng every night.
maybe, just maybe he is an acrobatic fish!! you never know, he might be in training for the circus :)
You need to see a fish wisperer!!
But dude, that is as mad as cheese!
Bravo on the craziest fish on the planet, a money making scheme should be on the cards me thinks..
what kinda fish is it. there is a such thing as a upside down catfish, if it is a goldfish it could be the swim bladder. try giving it a couple peas menced up
A fish which floats at the surface, or a fish which stays on the bottom and doesn't seem to be able to easily rise. A fish which has normal buoyancy but is listing to one side or the other often does not have swim bladder disease, but may have other diseases.
Have you tried talking to a vet? Fish swimming upside down is a sign that they are not very well.
i think your a bit mad!
id think it was stress but after 6 months i wouldnt worry about it anymore.. what type of fish is it and did it float upside down when u orignaly bought from shop?
Perhaps he's Australian?
My goldfish did that! something about him having too much air in one side of his body. Take him to the vet or you might find him floating for real! And don't feel a pratt for taking a fish to a vet, thats what they are there for!
Have you tried tying little weights to his belly ! just a thought
He may just be a stupid slow fish trying to out smart you.
It sounds to me like he has an air problem?
well.. i have an upside down catfish. its usually upside down wen i have the light on during the day. but at night i peek in the tank and i see it swimming upside right. and also my redtailed shark does the same thing every once in a while. but as long as its breathing it should be fine. hope i was of assistance
What are you taking, can you get me some?
it's fine just practicing synchronised swimming. You need to encourage it and stand on your head and watch
sounds like a classic case of fish wanting to re-locate to Austalia,
