Sounds like he may be suffering from a disease, fungus, or parasite. Try putting him in a bath of 1 gallon of water and one level teaspoon of salt for half an hour. Then do a partial water change and add one level tablespoon of salt for every 5 gallons of water. Makes sure all water is about the same temperature and use salt for freshwater aquariums.

Put it near a window. Goldfish are like plants, they need light to keep their colour. I don't think it does them much harm though..

sounds like a fungus, they sell drops to put in your tank for that at the pet store. The fungus can kill your fish.

dont worry it aint dying,prob something has stressed it like a sudden temp change or movement. have had a few what have gone from orange to white.

Is it a white fungus growing on the fish, or is the fish itself turning white? If it's fungus, you can get some treatment liquid from a pet shop, if it's the fish itself turning white, it could just be that it is changing colour, if it seems otherwise healthy. Goldfish can change colour as they age.
