My goldfish has gotten huge
One of the golfish in my backyard pond has slowly gotten more and more bloated in the abdomin. At first I thought she was pregnant, but she (he?) just kept getting more and more bloated. It started to lose some scales now. Although the goldfish looks painfully bloated it continues to swim around with the others looking for food. It eats well. What is wrong with it?
Answers:As your fish lives in a pond, nematode worms are a possibility. To be on the safe side I would suggest buying them a de-worming food to feed them now and again in three weeks.

It's just fat
Goldfish get as big as their environments allow.
Small glass bowl.small goldfish.
pond.larger goldfish.
Goldfish can get huge!
Some of our were looking like that too, and one day there was babies.
Fishes do not stop growing until they die
I think it's pregnant
Goldfish can grow as large as their food supply and enviroment will permit. The largest grow to be a length of 23 inches (59 cm) and can weigh up to 9.9 pounds (4.5 kg); although this is the extreme.
Try adding another goldfish or two to the pond. Over time, you'll find the larger one will slim down.
Bloated.and missing scales..?? Goldfish are notorious for getting infections in their floater bags..(bag that helps fish dive and surface)..check to see if the fish swims correctly or if it swims tail up or tail down.
Well it could be pregnant or it could be something a little more serious. It could a disease called dropsy. You can find more info and othe symptoms at this site http://www.geocities.com/adams_goldfish1.
maybe its a symptom called dropsy. dropsy is not a disease, its a symptom so cure vary
Goldfish are members of the carp family; they can get very big.
I'm am not sure of the problem but some goldfish do grow different maybe he or she is one of them that does.
That is the bloat parasite. Ask your question out on the forums of both these boards. There are a ton of extremely knowledgeable hobbyists out in the pond sections of these 2 boards that can point you to the best treatments for ponds.
