You are probably feeding too much. Guppies are easily affect by poor water quality. Your babies aren't being affected yet because they haven't been exposed to the water as long. Increase then number of water changes and decrease the amount of food you are putting in. Salt for freshwater aquariums is a good idea to add as it will protect the fish from the other problems (like ich and dropsy) associated with overfeeding.

that information is meaningless, without knowing how many guppies you have. if you had one and it died . or if you had 1,000 and one died.

Why do people keep giving "talk to a vet" as advice? Vets usually know absolutely nothing about Fish. And most do not have a Herpetology background either.

Anyway, is this a new tank or well established? How big is the tank? Where are your water parameters (chemistry & temp)? How many fish total are in the tank?

I would first ask how many gallon tank do u have and how many fish are in it? Generally, it is recommended 1 fish per gallon of water. I would also stand behind that even for the small guppies, as they pee very high amounts of ammonia into the water, due to the fact that they actually do drink copious amounts of the tank water.
