My male Guppy hasnt been eaten for two days2007-11-24 23:38:38

I have a male guppy and a female along with two mollies. The male guppy has not been eaten any food for the past two days. He sits at the bottom of the tank most of the time. I have tried flake food and pellets but he just doesn't like them the other 3 fishes love them. Any suggestion?

Change the water, 25-50%, then add 1-2tsp of Aquarium salt or rock salt per gallon- do not use salt with iodine in it (EG table salt). Continue the water changes for several days if possible. Make sure the water is close to the same temperature as that of your aquarium. Check for bloating or red streaks in the fish, as this is a sign of infection. Test kits for ammonia and nitrite are recomended as I believe this to be an issue of water quality, dilute the poisonous chemicals with fresh water, the salt helps to kill pathogens and heal wounds. MelaFix is a good product as well, but add no other chemicals without finding out what is really wrong.
