My male guppy just died, why HELP2007-11-24 23:38:38

Yesterday, he lost somme of his coloring and it looked like part of his fin was really damaged, he was bright yellow and then it was all clear? today it seems like all his fin was gone and he died this morning. I just bought him about 3 days ago and I also bought 3 others that seem to be doing just fine? what happened?

maby you didn't clean the tank as well or did you have one of those oxygen dills that go at the bottom so they could breath?? maby thats why. or maby your just not good with fish.

Sometimes the shock of being in the petstore then moved to other home will do this. If your other guppies look alright then I wouldn't worry about it to much. Might want to check you water.

If you bought the fish you probably bought him out of a group tank. The fish could have already been of and older age, as guppies don't tend to live really long. If the other three are doing well, it was probably just older. The fin missing could be because your other guppies ate it. They will eat dead fish, and the babies as well. If the other seem to be sick and die then you may have to clean out the tank before getting new ones. Good luck!

He may have had fin rot. This disease eats the fins and then when it gets to his body then it will affect him and die. You need to "quarantine" the other fish and put them in different containers just to make sure it won't spread around. Gets some good fin rot meds for your fish.

Who else is in the tank with him?

Sounds like somebody to a bite out of his fin and he was bleeding to death.

That fish was probably sick or some thing. when they loose there colour that means they are going to die soon or that they are very sick. Your fish could of had fin rot.
