My pregnant guppy2007-11-24 23:39:25

I have a guppy that is a dark orange/red in the rear and tail so I can't see a gravis spot but she is much bigger every day and swims with extra effort. Do all guppies get this spot or do I just have a fat fish? I can email pics if it would be easier. Thanks for the answers

Sometimes the color can camoflage the spot. Most likely she is pregnant, most guppies stay slim until they are ready to give birth. Watch carefully she may be ready now and will eat her children.

fust fat
Heh yes, I believe your guppy is pregnant. If you have any other fish in the tank I highly suggest moving mommy to a new tank. And then when she has her babies then re-move her back to the tank while you keep the babies in the new tank. Why? Because otherwise your other fish will eat your guppies. Congrats on the baby fish by the way ^_~
yeah ask a vetrinarian.I personally think that it is pregnant.
Soor I Dont No Nothing About Fish.
Soon you will be able to see the dark spot if she is pregnant even though she has color in that area. The skin will stretch until it is thin and you should even be able to see little eyes looking out when the fry are fully developed just before she gives birth.

Get a breeding net and put her in it now so you do not handle her when she is about to throw the fry. It can damage a fish to be handled at this time.

she's probably pregnant
