If the red devil doesn't eat up the first batch of baby or real small guppies then try brine shrimp from the petshop, it comes frozen in square wrappers, it's a little more spendy, but if you want your red devil to grow much bigger and get more brighter in color, and you have a good size tank for him to grow in , like a 55 gallon, you will see him grow pretty fast seeing he's only a year old! The smaller the tank you use, the lesser he'll grow, and shorten his life span too!

Once he reaches his larger size, he should be able to eat small to medium size gold fish! and then if you know if it's a male or female, you should be able to buy it a mate and add a few more plants for the female to hid so he she doesn't get constantly bred by the males, male fish of all species just think there supose to breed constantly which can be a nitemare for the females, many times people will set up a smaller tank just for the female once they know for sure she's going to be having babies soon, it makes things a lot easier for her and no chance Daddy is going to eat them as fast as she gives birth to them!

Anyway if them Ideas I told you still don't work for feeding your red devil, you can also try neon fish! but most likely the baby guppies or the brine shrimp will work for more sources of food besides the pellets only! But I would only use the guppies and brine shrimp and guppies 2 to 3 times a week , sorta like a treat! and keep letting him eat the pellets on the other days!
