My salt water snails are getting attacked by my weever blenny What can i do2007-11-24 23:39:26

i have salt water snails in my 10 gallon tank. I have a weever blenny that tends to attack them and has eaten 1 already. these are pretty good size snails. I had small ones before and they got eaten, so i got bigger ones. He tries to tip them over when they are on a rock. He just recently decided to do this. I have had them in the same tank for a few months now.

I also have a clown fish, a basslet, and an angel and they all get along, but this guy is causing problems and they said he wasn't aggressive. What the heck?

And I don't want to get rid of my weever blenny or my snails.

They aren't aggressive - towards other fish. They will also nip at small-polyped stony corals and clam mantles so you may have to make a tough decision.

Place your weever blenny in a seperate tank .. and place him near the other tank so he can wave at his former dinner mates.

if fish get hungry enough they will eat anything, the blenny's normally wont eat snails which is weird. maybe he has recently figured out that he can eat them. he will probably continue eating them at a slow pace.If you don't want to get rid of either just let him eat them.

even though some shops claim that certain fish aren't aggressive they in fact can be.
