My tank is making bubbles from the bottom of the tank, is that normal
I have an air pump, but sometimes there are large bubbles that come up from the bottom and scare my Betta. Is this normal or an indicator that something is wrong. Please help.
Answers:how often do you vacuum your gravel?
air bubble coming up from the gravel is waste (fish food, crap, etc) that gets down in the gravel and rots.as it rots it releases gas, which bubbles up.when you do finally disturb you gravel you had better do a large water change becouse the ammount of gas that is going to be released into the water will be toxic for most fish,

How big is the tank? How old is the tank? When was the last time you vacuumed the gravel?
Sometimes gas pockets can get into the gravel, and they are very toxic to the fish if they get one that pops by them.
this is not normal and should be reported to the fish police immediately
u may want to check the filter on your air pump and the lines as well there may be a kink in the line or a partial clog in the pump filter this causing build up of air and causing bigger air bubbles , u may also have the air realeas valve up to high or low
That always happens when it is past time to change my charcoal filter. I'm not sure what kind of filter you have, but my advice is to change it quickly.
