Need to know all about Zebra Danios2007-11-24 23:38:52

Please don't recommend sites.. Tell me what YOU think and know about them.

Answers:

I love them and always have a few. They are perfect inhabitants for a community aquarium. They should only be kept with other peaceful fish.

They are top feeders and will accept any prepared fish food. They are voracious feeders.

They are curious and constantly busy.

My favorite thing about them? They're CHEAP!

I highly recommend keeping Zebra Danios.

Pretty awesome looking little guys. I have used many of the Danio family of fish for multiple reasons in the past, but just out of curiosity - are you wanting to mix them with other breeds of fish for a community tank?

DANIOS.hardy, easy will eat tonz so don't let this fool you..they r just happy chillin W.W/O. other non aggressive playmates.hope this helps good luck!

Takes a nuclear holocaust to kill the suckers. I used 6 of them to cycle my 30 gallon. They like to be in groups of 3-5 and need a fairly large tank because they are so active. They are easy to breed if you have large pebbles or marbles for subtrate so the eggs fall through and the adults cant go through and eat the eggs, after the eggs are laid you will need to move the adults into another tank and i believe its only a 36-48 hour incubation period before the eggs hatch. Ive mixed zebra danios with long fin leopard danios. For some reason i like the leopard danios better.

While I don't know much about them personally. I have heard they are very hardy, they are often the suggested fish for cycling. Perfect for beginners, just remember to take good care of them, good luck!
