Killifish. Small, colorful, very hardy, good for beginners and go well in community tanks (just don't put them with something even slightly aggressive like a betta as they aren't fast swimmers)

gouramis and sharks live beautifully in an acquarium im talkin about the tiny shark fish though.

If you want something easy to take care of, I'd suggest a beta. They're about five dollars and you can buy them at walmart and most pet stores.

OK, Beta's are the best, except that they are generally not community fish--but here's a tip I got from the local pet shop. If you establish a community of fish--like neon tetra's--and then add the beta after they're established, then the beta is less likely to be agressive. If the beta is there first, and you add other fish later, the beta will probably eat them.
