without all the filters and pumps and temperature gauges and all that?

Answers:

No, absolutely not. Fancy goldfish need 10 gallons per baby/juvenile fish . Long bodied goldfish need 20 gallons per baby/juvenile fish. The ammonia the goldfish excretes will burn the poor goldfish's gills and it will suffocate from lack of oxygen. Filters not only clean the water but they provide oxygen. Goldfish also grow 12-14 inches and live for 30 yrs.

If the office has a tank with a filter, the goldfish will be fine left alone for the weekend ASLONG as the filter keeps running.

as long as the bowl is placed well so it doesnt get too hot or too cold that is fine.. it shouldnt be too crowded either (one inch fish per one gallon of water)

a plastic plant is a nice touch too but goldfish have very short memories so dont get bored

Yeah, I've had lots of fish. All you have to do is feed them and clean the water once in a while. I used tap water for a goldfish and its fine. As someone said, their memory is next to none. Pretty hardy fish, too.

Exotic fish are much more picky and need all the bells and whistles.

Put a castle or something in the bowl. Cuz it only has like a 4-5 sec memory spand it will be a surprise every time it goes to check it out.

Keeping a goldfish in a bowl will significantly impact the health of the fish and shorten it's life (with proper care it'll live many years in a tank; a bowl will shorten it to a few months, if that).
