Can betta's really jump out of their tanks?
Answers:It depends on the betta some seem to love to jump. Also smaller containers, and bad water conditions tend to increase the chance of jumping. I had a betta once jump from a small water glass into the sink, and then flopped into the garbage disposal. It took a minute or so to fish him out.
We have had fish jump out of tanks before, but never one of our beta's. Goldfish are good a committing suicide.
yes, yes, and yes. bettas need covers on their tanks.
I have had bettas in every kind of container and never had one jump out. Just don't fill the water right up to the edge. Also a large bowl with a lip around the edge would be safer. There are also small aquariums - some VERY small! - that have lids!
Mine has never done that, i don't think their bodies are made to be able to jump easily, but i could be wrong.
Yes, When I would clean his tank and put him in a small glass he would try to jump out every time. And then when I put him back in his tank (with a cover) I would hear a splash. And then when I looked I saw nothing. He would do this on other occasions as well.
no i had a red and black 1 they never jump out of the tank but never put 2 in the same tank because they will eat other fish my beta, devil aet my goldfish
Any fish will jump out of a tank if it feels really threatened by something - not just other fish, if the water is hard to live in due to chemical imbalance aswell. hope this helps.

Yes, mine does it any time I forget to put the lid on. Once I found him in the sink, and once on the floor. And once in the other bettas tank.they are connected. They are hardy fish though, cause he has survived all of these.

I have a blue one. He lives in a goldfish bowl. He has never tried to jump out . I have had him for 2 YEARS now.

My current betta has ALMOST jumped out of his tank once before. I always keep a lid on the tank just in case.

Yes, one of my bettas did this.. and I think it's the only one among my 9 bettas (living separated) that did this. He likes to jump to another tank next to it, out of the tank and land on the floor. I have no choice but to cover it. This explained that not all Bettas jump, but some of them will.
