if a snail lives in the ocean with SALTWATER wont it die because of the SALTWATER.. and if i pour salt on the snail will it start melting like they usually do?

There are land snails and ocean snails even fresh water snails. The answer to this question is if you place salt on a land or lake snail it would harm it but a snail from the ocean would not be harmed also keep in mind that the salt from an ocean is very different then table salt. No. All salt water fish, including invertebrates filter out salt from the surrounding sea from entering their bodies (fresh water fish can't do this.) This is why salt water fish, snails, and other invertebrates don't taste salty.

Pouring salt on a land snail, or slug will defiantly have an adverse affect on the animal. The reason is that unlike the sea snail, land invertebrates rely on water for locomotion and life it self, and can not filter out salt. The salt instantly draws water out of the Land snails body, and kills the animal.

There are salt water snails and fresh water snails. They both preform the same functions. Table salt is different from sea salt. You cannot put a fresh water snail in a salt water tank and vis versa. If you put a fresh water snail in salt water, yes it will die.

A marine snail is a totally different type to a common garden snail, And the salt you keep in your cupboard is a different type of salt to the salt in the ocean.All you have to do to a marine snail is take it out of its natural habitat put it into a fresh water habitat and of course it will die as a fresh water snail will if put into the ocean. They are different sub species and both have different needs for survival.
