Red Bellied Piranha or Barracudas
Which one do you think out make a better aquarium pet. I have never owned either of these fish and I am aware that reds usually don't live up to the hype about their aggressive nature. I've done a lot of reading about them and feel like i have a pretty good foundation to keep a shoal. But I know next to nothing about the barracudas and I can't find a website or anything to read about how to take care of them. So which fish do you guys thing would make a better pet and could someone give me some info on barracudas or send me a link or something where i could read about caring for barracudas. Thanks
Answers:A barracuda will get much larger in captivity and require a lot larger tank for a single one. A red bellied piranha however will grow fast but can live in a 55 gallon comfortably. The good part of that is you can get 3 red belly piranhas in there and they will be more social because red bellies live longer and thrive with more than one in a tank. They prefer company of their own kind and it makes for an interesting feeding time. However, a barracuda will need a tank larger than 55 gallons.
Don't do much about either fish, especially the barracudas. Think you're gonna need an extremely large tank for one of them. And they're salt water you know, gonna be expensive to start up that tank.
