hi! i just did a 50% water change and now all 3 of my goldfish ( 2 fantail and 1 celestial eye) are sort of stressed or sick! one is floating on its sides, one keeps floating up and the other just stays at the bottom of the tank!
i already fed them green peas! and they seem better
But what do i do now?? do i change the water in the tank again or something??
Answers:NO NO NO.even 50% is way too much. Did you check the ph of the water you put in? You most likely shocked the fire out of them. Only do 25% of your tank next time. Goldfish are hardy, but you have to treat them well. Call your local fishery, luv.
i think you have too much sal;t in your tank like the dead sea, thats why they're floating to the top, or they swallowed too much air, or your friend thought they were balloons and filled them with helium. if all fails they nare dead! flush them down the toilet or replace the batteries
DO NOT change the water again! 50% is too much; do only 25%! Just leave them alone for a while, I think you put them into a septic shock or a thermal shock. Did you check the temperature? or the ph? Maybe there was too much chlorine? I know this is strange, but if you look your fish head on, and the eyes are sunken, it means they are close to death. (known from my many experiences with goldfish!) Let them recover a bit first. If they seem to be doing better, then try giving them a little food.
Have you checked the ph in the tank,if not get yourself a ph test kit which will let you know if your water is to alkine or to much acidity.did you put in a water ager before you put your fish back in the water,also check to see if your fish have whitespot or a fungal disease.
