Someone please recommend me a good Betta kit/bowl at Petco or Petsmart
My budget is $5 - $10.
Mostly looking for a 1-2 gallon bowl, water softener good too.
I already have food.
I don't know whether Petco or Petsmart is better but both look the same to me
Answers:Go with Petsmart. They have tons of betta blows there. But I would go with the duel bowl. Its two tanks combinded into one, and the divider in the middle can be removed to make it one big bowl. I just bought one yesterday, and i love it. You can house two males together that way, without them ripping each other apart, plus its also a good way it let males view females, if your considering breeding.. they are about $5.99 ea. they come with gravel, food, and plastic plants.
here is the link. this IS the actual one I have.
Get a 10 gallon tank at Wal-mart for $10. Your betta will do much much better in one. Or at the very least a 5 gallon. No fish should have to live in anything smaller!
A plain fishbowl would be fine. It can be fairly small as Betta's don't need that much space. Any of the products that take chlorine out of the water should be fine. Brand to brand there isn't much difference if you're looking at plain dechlorinator. In other words you probably don't need a whole kit.
P.S. For the person that said PetsMart gets their rats from the wild. I don't know who told you that, but they are wrong. My husband and I worked for PetsMart for over 10 years, and know for a fact that the rats and mice they sell come from reputable breeders. Your source for that information was extremely wrong.
i went to petco today and saw this neat tank that i want to get for my Betta. It hangs on the wall lookes like a portal like on a big boat. I would not get any bigger than a 5 gal. Betta's do better in smaller tanks. If they have to much space then they get scared and can die. Also if you plan on breeding, then you will want a 5 gal. This way you can have room for two.
Petsmart is a terrible place. I found out that they catch their rodents with those sticky traps. They just put them in the wild and come back the next day and take the rodents and put them in the cages for sale! I just bought a 10 gallon tank at Petco for only 9 dollars. I had a beta, and had a 5 gallon tank for them, but the larger the better!
