anybody know who these guys get along with? ive got them with some tiger barbs now is that ok? whatelse is good to put with them?
Answers:I have a spotted puffer. we have a few triggers and tangs. Also, clowns are tough.
I've heard it both ways-yes they'll get along with each other/some species, and no they won't get along with anything. If yours are working out ok, that should be fine. Just keep an eye on all of them, and look for nipped fins.
You know they're going to require brackish water as they get older? Here's a link to a puffer forum, lots of good info.

Do you have these in fresh water? They are not a fresh water species. Walmart sells them as fresh water but they are brackish to full salt. I see that you mentioned tiger barbs so that is why I ask. They are fin nippers and will kill other fish that are not at lest mildly aggressive.
There's a big problem. There are at least 3 species of tiny green puffer fish that are sold on the market today. The best kind stay really small, can survive decently well in pure fresh water ( but do much better with some salt in their water), and are not aggressive to other fish.
The other kinds slowly die in fresh water, are very aggressive, and will kill their tank mates by harrassment.
There is almost no way to tell the differences in these puffers, unless you've studied them for awhile and have the different kinds side by side. Even then it's not a sure thing.
