Stocking a 10 gallon aquarium
I had 6 fish in my 10 gallon aquarium for 10 days, they were perfectly beautifully fine. On adivse of an unnamed sourse I was told serpae tetras would be fine with neons.this resulted in disaster and now I have no fish (had to take them back to unnamed source). So now, I have a full 10 gallon tank with no fish and I wanna know what I should put in it. I will be getting a few red zebra danios, but I wanna know what you think will look and go well with them. PS. since I had 6 fish doing great for 10 days in the aquarium, how many should I add now that there are none..6 or more or less?
Answers:tetras can be territorial. I would try guppies, mollies, and the zebra danios are fine. ask your fish store which ones are the most peaceful. Start with maybe 2 of each kind (6 total), then you can add more if you think they're doing ok..if you think they're being too crowded, then you can take one or 2 out.
next step would be upgrading to a bigger tank, probably won't cost much more and you'l have more options.good luck.
I would put albino corys with red zebra danios. But only like 5 danios with two corys to help prevent overstocking.
Well a 10 gallon aquarium is really not that big. I had fancy goldfish in mine, and the max I could put in there were 2. It really just depends on what kind of fish you get, and how big they will get. You don't want to put alot of fish in such a small aquarium. If I were you I would do some more research online before you buy anymore fish. You also should go to your local pet store and get someone's advice that really knows the best what you should do. Good luck to you and your new fishies! :)
Put some piranhas in it.
I do not know what u mean by disaster ?, if it means all the fish died, then the reason is not compatibility but nitrite poisoning (and incidentally there is no harm in keeping Tetras and Neons are OK together).
