Taking my fish for a swim
Is it possible for me to take my pet trout for a swim in local rivers or canals? I have lead for it that I have made using the old plastic bit from a four pack. The problem is that it damages him everytime I put it on and remove it. Are there specially made fish leads. I would preferably like one with those extending handle things like you can get for dogs.
Answers:I thought your question was hilarious, but reading the answers.. kept me rolling. I think it's cute you want to take your pet fish for a swim. I can see you are quirky like me. If you wanted to make a harness, you will have to use something that will not cut into your fish. I would try something like a soft, preferably slick fabric with holes cut for his fins. You could form it to his body to hold him in, though it might be hard to get good measurments on a wily fish. If you could though, this would make a perfect harness and you could attach a leash to the fabric too. I would attach the leash to the tail end of the fabric, high enough up that it doesn't interfere with his tail movements, yet low enough that you won't hurt him by pulling back on him. Good luck, I would be most excited to find out what you end up doing <smile> Elizabeth lawsclan2u@yahoo.com
