The past day or two I noticed my fish wasnt eating This morning he was dead2007-11-24 23:41:07

I dont know if there was something I couldve done to get him to eat or why exactly he died if it wasnt starvation. I have only had him a few months and the other fish and shrimp in my tank seem fine so I wouldnt think it is anything in the water. Any insight is appreciated.

Fish are pretty fragile. Some are more fragile than others. Anything could be the reason -- water temperature or purity, disease, attack by other fish, eating something poisonous.

The fish could have had something wrong with it OR it picked up something the other fish didn't. Some fish are more susceptible to things than others.

Sometimes when a fish is purchased it is already sick, I would advise that you treat the tank as if all the fish were sick. You won't hurt the fish and you may prevent any more fatalities.

This happens a lot. I used to have 5 fishes separetely at often times in my life but they were dying. Not very often of course (in 8-10 months). You might have fed too much your fish so as to struggle to get oxygen with so much food and do not eat for these 2 days or you might have neglected it at often periods of time so as not let the fish pay attention at the food. And, at last but not least, it might died genetically being ill when you bought it. Do not hesitate to IM me for further questions.

It wasn't starvation. He didn't eat because he was sick and didn't feel like eating. Have you added any new fish lately that could have brought in a disease?
