I have a female guppy who loves to flirt with male and female live bearers!Weirdly she even made a friend with a baby male swordtail and always follows him whenever he goes. When I seperate her from the baby swordtail she would turn red with rage and splish splash around the aquarium and banging against the aquarium glass. What in the world of slimy fish is happening to my poor guppy???
Answers:I'm scared!!
I don't believe this is all that uncommon. I used to have tropical fish, and I had some that would pair off with other species, too. Or a couple that would follow others around all the time. I thought it was cute! :)
No reason to worry.
This is not uncommon at all because all livebearers are related. Guppies, mollies, swordtails and platys will mate with each other and have a great relationship too.
I love to wach my fish . They all have a different friend . They no when I,am watching because they show off & swim upside down ,do silly little things.
Live bearers, including guppy, will mate with each other. Only swordtails, and platties will produce offspring. In most platties, and swordtails in the stores are hybrids.
