If you are going to be gone less than 2 weeks I wouldn't bother. The "feeders" that are out on the market will definitely foul your water and make your fish suffer. Do a thorough tank cleaning before you go and that's it. Don't over feed your fish before you go, either or you'll just be leaving more waste to rot in the tank and that will foul your water, too. Clean the tank, feed normal amount, and go enjoy your vacation! Your fish will be fine. When you get home give the tank another good cleaning and feed your little guy and give him lots of extra attention! LOL

I just went to petsmart and they had this seven day feeder thing they were like tablets or something you cpuld try that there is also this atumatic feeder thing you hook on to the top of your tank and you can set when to feed you fish , how long is the vacation if it is a week or less you coul dprobably just feed it really good with nutrious food before you go and it should last the week at least that is what I have done before, or you coul dhave a friend come and take care of you animals when you are away.

You can buy a block which dissolves slowly over a week releasing food. Any longer than that then you need someone to come in and feed them.

They sell these little bricks of food that dissolve over a period of 10 days. That's what we use when we leave our fish at home. YOu should be able to find them in any pet store.

Yes, there is a "vacation feeder," on the market, but they are horrible products. They will foul up the water very quickly, and the nutritional benifits from it are very much outweighed by the practicallity. Depeding on the length of your vacation, just feed well before, and dont worry about it. This is good up to a week. Fish can live without food without a week no problem...I have done this nearly 3 times this summer and there was no problem. If it is longer than a week, take the betta to a trusted friend, or even a local fish shop to see if they'll watch over it..
