What Fish mix well with Gouramis2007-11-24 23:11:55

I have two Gouramis one Three Spot and another an Opaline mix, I also have six guppies and a Pleco. What fish could be introduced in my 25 gallon tank that won't be aggressive towards my Gouramis and my other fish? I was thinking of getting a Boesemani Rainbow, any other suggestions?

Bosemans would like more than 25 gallon.

Really your over stocked now with the pleco, certainly a 24-30 inch common pleco wont like a 25 gallon.

But alot of ishes getalong with gouramies, avoid the common fn nippers like tiger barbs.

Try looking into Rams, they are a smaller cichlid that is not aggressive and will be fine with gouramies, but consider a move for the pleco.

Edit: Damn bob, consider the tank size please.

weather loach clown fish coolie loach ruby shark (not aggressive) neons all these will fit in nicely

Everything except the neons that Bob mentioned would be too large for your tank. Look into getting some medium sized tetras.

You don"t have to worry much about the aggression to the gouramis but you do to the guppys.Buy the way your two gouramis are both the same species jusy different color and pattern forms. As they get larger if both turn out to be males one could bully the other. You can tell the sex of these fish by looking at the dorsal fin the male is pointed and the female is rounded. The sugestion of discus is not good . .Discus can be difficult if you are new to the hobby. You seem to be attracted to the boesmani and they could do well with the other tank mates but if the guppys have long fins they could nip at them
