Newborn fish are called fry. Fry of egglayers are much smaller than livebearer fry and need very fine food until they can fit flakes in there mouths.

A good fry food is "Sera Micron", it is a very, very fine high protein food made in Germany. It is usually available in most pet stores. You should feed fry 2-3 times a day until they are at least one half inch long.

As they get older, you can start feeding them frozen baby brine shrimp (BBS). Good protein. If the parents are small, they will enjoy the BBS also.

Make sure you do your regular (weekly) partial (25-30%) water changes for ALL your tanks. Fry tanks should be done every 3-4 days until they are a half inch long.
