What can I put into a 25 gallon saltwater tank2007-11-24 23:40:39

Soooo.. yesterday my boss gives me this amazing little thing. It's a 2.5 gallon "salt water" ready fish tank!

The thing comes with all the necessary things and I think it's adorable. I have a fish tank, but have never done salt before. I realize it probably isn't advisable to put actual fish into this tank, but what about live rock/shrimp/other invertebraes.. what do you guys think?

Blue and gold neon gobies are small enough to put in a little tank and easy to keep.

Bumblebee shrimp grow to 1" and are also good for nano tanks.

Small, smooth-skinned sea stars will be okay. (anything with bumps will probably eat the other stuff in your tank.

When maintaining a nano tank, You will have to keep a daily eye on evaporation as the increase in the density of the salt will quickly kill everything. You will also need to chance the bulb every six months to avoid excessive algea blooms.

Start the tank with an inch of live sand for two weeks before adding the snails, Then wait a week and add a piece of live rock with some type of mushroom ( http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/scate. or polyps on it (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/scate. Then you can add the other animals.
