It's not as uncommon as you think. When my family first set up our fish tank, we would sit and stare at the fish for what seemed like FOREVER. I remember thinking that it was a lot like MTV.you'd sit down to watch one video and you'd end up staying for 2 hours, it was that enthralling.

Or is it just me.? :-)

What do you really mean insane? Seems to me that your feeling guilty about enjoying your fish. As long as you get your chores or work done so you can afford the fish there is no problem. If ya can't go to work or the bathroom then ya got a problem other wise lighten up enjoy life.

Give it time - it will subside after a few months.

I too was obsessed with my new setup for the first couple of months, but after about a year - it became more of a pleasure to enjoy from time to time to relax with than an obsession.
