What does a beta eat while youre on vacation
I'm planning a week long trip. What and how does your beta eat when you have no one to feed them.
Answers:If it's only a week don't worry. Vacation feeders, and friend are generally a bad idea. They tend over feed and the food rots in the water.. Just feed him normally, and clean his bowl/tank before you leave. Resist the urg to throw in a bunch of food before you leave. A healthy betta can go a week without harm.
You can buy vacation fish feeders at pet stores - put one in the tank and your betta will eat that - take out what's left when you get home.
I agree with walkinlady. I worked for my betta, they're not expensive, either.
It wont. Get someone to take care of it and it will be fine.
You dont need to worry much about them. If ur only going for a week , they can survive. just before u leave, feed them more then u do everyday. Bettas are strong fish. they can take it. i didnt feed them for like 1 and a 1/2 weeks and wen i got home it was still alive.
How big is the tank you have the betta (pronounced bet-tah, not bay-tah) in? If it is quite small, you run the risk of him dying in his own waste before you get back. If it is large, he will be OK if fed well before you leave and his water changed the night before you go.
If that is the only fish you have, why not ask one of your friends to take him to their house for a week. Only have them feed him every other day and change his water twice while you are gone.

NO vacation feeders! They foul up the water, the food rots, and those are the ingredients for a sick fish. If you are gone for a week he will be fine with no food, or you can get someone to feed him. Remember, his stomach is only the size of his eye - he won't need to eat much!
Depending on exactly how long you are going to be gone - I really wouldn't worry about it.
Fish can go several days without feeding. It won't kill them, and in fact - is not a bad idea to have them fast a few days between feedings anyways (especially if they are the only one in the tank/aquarium).
