What does an albino african clawed frog eat2007-11-24 23:41:30

I have a tiny frog which is whitish yellow (too me it looks albino). I am assuming it is an african clawed frog, what do they eat? I have it in a tank with 2 algae eaters right now. I heard that once it gets bigger it may eat the fish. But for now what can I feed it? When my goldfish were alive I noticed the frog would eat the regular fish food, but now it doesn't seem to eat it when I put it in. oh and the goldfish died from new tank stress the frog didn't eat them!

I use to have the same exact frog. If your still looking, don't panic because mine lastes 1 month without food. They eat little crickets, grass, and whats ever around them that they will eat. Don't feed him/her too much though because of there small bodies, and purified water can kill them.

My husband and I have 4 african claw frogs. We started off by feeding them guppies, then as they grew we graduated them up to small goldfish then up to larger ones. After that they will pretty much eat whatever they want including some of my favorite fishes I had. So when introducing them to fish you WANT to keep make sure the tank is well stocked with guppies and/or goldfish. Trust me on that, I guess I've lost about fifty dollars worth of fish I wanted to keep. Because they will eat anything they can fit in their mouth.

night crawlers or some type of worm (red wigglers)

their natural diet is mostly small fish and worms

i currently have 6 of them they are around 5" now and yes they will eat anything that they can fit in their mouths
