I don't think it matters. However, lots of rain, like flooding or whatever, they will probably get scared and go to the bottom. If the rain contained chemicals, for example, acid rain, then they won't be happy, and very uncomfortable. Too much polluted rain could kill them.
hmmmmmm, its raining
They don't like it! It changes the PH level in the pond quickly and can make them sick.
Well as a fish, I have been asked this question a lot. At the first drop of rain we signal all of our friend and relatives to get to the surface asap, 'cause the rain will wash a lot of bugs and beetles out of the trees and bushes above us. We are always looking for some extra nourishment as you just can't get enough from those guys who throw you fish with those metal hooks inside. I have lost more mates because of those things. The other thing we all rejoice over is if there is enough rain it will flush all that poop out of here. And you are wondering how I have access to a computer? Don't ask!
What do they think about it? Well - if it has a lot of pollutants in it I would think that they are probably thinking "I wish this so-n-so would put us inside".
