What does it mean if a beta fish has a bubble on its eye
I have a beta fish. I've had him for about 2 or 3 months. I clean his tank every 1 to 1 and a half weeks. I use the drops to take the chloramine out of the water and I feed him a few dots of food every day. He is in a tank by himself and doesn't get much stress. About a week ago, I noticed a bubble covering his eye. It's pretty big for such a little guy, but I figured if it was deadly, he'd have died already. I thought maybe it was normal for betas to get bubbles on their eyes, but I don't want him to die. Is it normal or not?
Answers:it means it is sick. Go to your local pet store and they can direct you to some proper medicine. It will probably cost 3-5 dollars
This could very well be pop-eye - the following link I'm about to give you is very specific on the treatment and prevention of this disease.

It could also be caused by nitrogen supersaturation (also explained in the article). Though I've never had problems with pop-eye, I do have a silver dollar prone to nitrogen supersat problems (he gets little yellow bubbles inside the actual eye). If you continue to have problems, come over to the boards at Flippers and Fins and post your questions on the message boards. There are lots of people there to help you along, including an actual doctor.
