What does it mean if my Betta fish is tilted sideways
I've had my fish for about a month now, and I've been feeding it 6-7 betta gold pellets a day. However, a few days ago I noticed that it was tilted to its side, about 45 degrees, although it remained horizontal. I figured I was overfeeding it (although he seemed fine with the scheadule before) so I stopped giving him food for a day or two. This morning he was swimming regularly again, so I fed him three pellets, but just now I realised that he was tilting again, in the other direction this time.
My questions is why he's doing this, and how do I fix it?
Answers:I've seen mine do that. I think that's how they sleep.
Try putting a teaspoon of salt per gallon of water in with him. They love that.

Cut back to 5 pellets a day. He's getting too much food.
Treat the fish with bettafix. you can get it at most pet stores and even walmart. He has a bacterial infection. Also, maybe stop withthe pellets and give him some bloodworms (freeze-dried or frozen) its a better diet for him anyway.
Some fish will get constipated on dried foods; try giving him frozen bloodworms and/or brine shrimp. I used to have a discus that used to do this when I fed any type of pellet in his diet.
It may meanr the current in the tank is too strong.
Try changing the food you are giving him, it sounds like the food is making him sick.
Check the water quality, and the temp (75-80) only feed him once every 2 or 3 days. Floating or swimming sideways/tilted is lke us limping. He is probably getting a tummy ache you could try a different kind of food, but what you are feeding should be fine. Just don't feed as often. Remember to change 25% of the water 1 time weekly and to keep the temp up. If you do all this and he continues, you may need to try medication for the condition, but at that point only, the less feedings should fix it.
