What fish are Angel Fish most compatible with2007-11-24 23:11:53

I would guess that fish that are similar size and don't fight would work best. But I'm not 100% sure.

nothing too small or nothing too passive. usually bottom feeders like corydoras or other catfish are good because they aren't in the angelfish's way. gouramis that get about 4-5" would be a good choice too -- pearl gouramis and the blue/gold/opaline/platinum/thr... spots (they are actually all the same fish in different colors). small fish like tetras will most likely end up dinner.

Something passive that will stay in the bottom half of the tank. I just lost an angel fish this week, I cried! Now I'm down to 8. I don't know the name of the other type of fish in my aquarium. They look like sharks, but are a type of catfish. They're pretty big, but they towards the bottom half of the tank and I have never once seen them or the angels act aggressive towards each other.wait I take that back, when my breeding pair lays eggs then they will fight anything that gets near them, including me! It's quite funny.

Any fish that aren't fin nippers. Also, angelfish tend to eat small fish. I would suggest keeping only a group of angelfish together. A bottom feeder would be ok, though.

A school of larger tetras and some cory cats will do.
