What is a good bottom-feeder for my tank2007-11-24 23:11:58
I haven't gotten my tank yet, but it is going to be 10-gallons. I am keeping 3 male mollies, 4 male guppies, and 4 zebra danios. I need to get a bottom feeder that won't get too big for my tank. Suggestions?
Answers:I`ve personally had all sorts of bottom feeders. In all honesty the ones I found did the job best were my Snails. They got to a good size, their nice to look at and did a great job on keeping my glass tank and bottom very clean.
loch

Catfish. They're good at grubbing through the gravel and stay small.

Albino Cat Fish are some good bottom feeders. But, an even better bottom feeder is the Plecostamus.
What you are going to put in there already exceeds the tank's capacity. Try to stick to the rule of one gallon of water for every inch of fish. Although zebras and guppies stay about one inch, mollies get to be about 2.5 inches. So three mollies already take up 7.5 gallons in the 10 gallon tank. . . leaving room for about 2 one inch fish.
I would think about getting a bigger tank. Most people upgrade soon after getting a small tank because they realize that they can't fit too many fish in there. And the first tank and accessories were just a waste of money.
