What is a good cleaning fish for my tank
I have a 20 gallon tank (i think lol its really big- I'm 5'6 and a can touch both ends with my hands with a little bend in the arms and it is about a foot and a half wide) well anyways I have two baby turtles that are getting so bug :-) and I have 9 goldfish. i try to keep my tank clean but I need a little help. I want to buy some cleaning fish, i don't know any names i just called them "sucker fish" when I was small. So I need help you fish lovers... what is the best, and cheapest, non fast dying, EASY to take care of fish i can buy that will clean my tank?
I have small blue rocks to cover the floor and large brown rocks placed randomly and a large peice of wood along with a floating turtle rock. - just incase this helps.
I get off work at 5pm and I am going to go buy one... so i need info FAST :-) thanks a bunch (its 11:00am my time :-)
Answers:A pleco would outgrow that tank in no time. A good cleaning catfish is an otto. They don't die quickly, as long as you take the time to acclimate them properly. They like to be in groups, so get 3 of them. They stay fairly small and they are a hoot to watch! They are voracious algae eaters, too!
try snails but they can overpopulate the tank. you can also try shrimps.
None - You tank is allready full and it will need upgraded soon, Those goldfish are messy and can grow up to 2 ft (if properly housed), Adding more fish to the tank will just make it worse, And sucker fish only eat algae of the side of the tank, Not fish poop.
