What is the best small (under 3 1/2 gallons) aquarium where my single male betta will be happy2007-11-24 23:41:00

*Normally I'd advise against hex tanks for betta as they prefer room to more room horizontally. But if like me you need to limit the foot print of the tank, and have a little extra cash. More volume means more dilution of fish waste, and if power goes out slower temp changes.

NO BOWLS. What would you do if some giant came and stuffed you into a small room, completely sealed off, with no toilet, you just went in the room. All the wastes just piled up burning you eyes and nose. To make it worse, there is little or even no air in that room, and you had to live in it for the rest of your life?

Thats what a bowl is like. A 21/2 gal is fine, though a 5 gal would be much better and would cost only a few bucks more. The eclipse systems are nice, and include lighting, filtration, and aeration
