what type of fish would be best for a small tank, and how many fish of that type and what kind of other fishes can go with that fish?

Answers:

How small is small? If its 5 gallons or under the only fish I would put in there is a betta, or maybe 3 male guppies. You could get an african drawf frog or ghost shrimp too.

Goldfish need 10 gallons each minimum, for 5 goldfish you would need a 50 gallon tank and that isn't small.

think you probably only need 2 to 5 fish at max if its a 5 gallon.

I have fan tails and your standard feeder fish in the same tank and they get along and are getting very big. I have a beta in a bowl and she is beautiful and have had her for a long time too.
