Good luck.
I think they sell an ICH chemical at petco I don't no the name of it.
First you need to remove any filter cartridges you have in your tank, turn your heat up to 76-78 degrees. Get a bottle of Nox-ich which can be found at pet stores. You will add 1-2 drops per 10 gals. You will do this for 3 days. After you have done the 3 day treatment you will want to do a 50% water change. Then add stress coat which can be found at a pet store. Reduce your heat back down to 72 degrees and replace your filter cartridges. You may end up losing one or two fish that are very bad to begin with.
Ich is a parasite that all fish have it just takes stress or an injury to bring it out such as netting a fish. Once a fish is in a net it will lose its natural slime and is prone to any parasite, bacteria, or infection.
There is meds for this problem sold at any Wal-Mart,or pet store,it's called "ICH",or "ICK". follow directions for the size of tank you have.A tank needs to be set up a few days in advance of placing fish in it in order for the water to age.Probably every fish you have in this tank will get it from the ones that have it and if so,empty your tank and clean it throughly with bleach and water, rinse well, then treat the tank before placing any fish in it.Never buy a fish with spots on it ,as it will infest the entire tank. Also get a heater and set temp to stay at a certain degrees.Think it is suppose to be around 80 to 85 at all times for tropical, and can be cooler for Goldfish.
Note that you should never raise the temp until you start an ich treatment. Raising the temp speeds up the life cycle of ich which is import as all meds on effect the free swimming stage of it's life cycle. Raising the temp above 85 is effective, but may kill many types of fish like goldfish. On the other hand fish like betta won't be effected at all. Don't exceed the recommend temp for a fish by more than 5F.
There are drops of medicine you can use, and also (not many people know about this ) you can use a UV light to kill the bacteria. UV light is the common blacklight. It is good to keep it, since it kill bacteria and algae, makes the water crystal clear, and gives a nice moonlight effect at night and some fish will glow or have nice colours (such as blue guppies)
