Others have made claims of finding larger sturgeon, but the International Game Fishing Association says the largest sturgeon on record is 468 pounds. That fish has also held the record for largest freshwater fish caught.
i dont know .it got away!!
Most likely a whale shark.
The largest scientifically recorded example was 12.65 m (41 ft 6 in) long. That's freaky huge.
The biggest rod-caught fish was a Great White, caught in the Great Australian Bight, somewhere around Melbourne. I forget the exact weight, but it was about three tons, and was caught in the 1970's.
Other fish which are so big and powereful that the average human would lose the battle on rod and line, are the black and blue marlins, bluefin tuna, and the bigger conger eels.
I can't claim to have caught any of these, but I have had a four and three quarter hour battle with a 125lb Porbeagle shark in Cardigan Bay. It was on 20lb breaking strain line, intended for lesser fish.
moby dick
she was as big as a house..and i will never ever go back to that bar again!!
the one caught by J Onah of Galilee in 400 B.C.
